Day of Remembrance and FREE Tour for Westport Residents

TUESDAY, JULY 14

11 AM - 1 PM

In the summer of 2016, neighboring Westport, MA, was the site of the largest case of animal cruelty in the history of the northeast. Approximately 1,400 animals were discovered living in horrific conditions on a farm just 7 miles away from West Place Animal Sanctuary. Our executive director spent 5 months travelling back and forth, assisting animals in need and ultimately rescuing 67 animals from the infamous Westport Animal Cruelty Case.

Farm animals are underrepresented, underserved, and often overlooked. Yet they are just as sentient, emotional, and intelligent as our dog and cat companions. Ten years later, and after enduring unfathomable cruelty, the survivors of the Westport case are still standing. Join us to honor their perseverance and resilience.
